Description and Requirements

A new service based in Bunyip is looking for a passionate and organised Coordinator for children in our before and after school care capacity. This is a permanent part-time position at 35 hours per week all year round - the perfect balance! 

Hours are as follows: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 09:00 AM (Rise then Shine Program) and 02:30 – 06:30 PM (Stay and Play Program) plus 5 additional paid admin hours.

In addition to a competitive salary, there is also a $1500 commencement bonus at the completion of first month plus another $1500 loyalty bonus at 12 months + split shift allowance + uniform allowance + other benefits + super.

 

About the role 

Leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years. You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.

  • Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!
  • Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents 
  • Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the service 

Based in Bunyip, this service would see you collaborate with a flexible and supportive school principal. With access to two indoor spaces, a playground and basketball courts, there is plenty of room to plan creative and engaging activities. There is an existing team and a reliable group of casual staff working across the service and neighboring schools. You would have the opportunity to re-design and build on the program. 

 

Who are we looking for? 

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships
  • Thrives in a busy environment
  • Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it!) and a state check for working with children 
  • Australian work rights 
  • Holds or is currently studying an ACECQA-approved qualification at a Diploma level or above
